RWC Seaford (Road Worthy Certificate)

Generally when you sell or re-register a used vehicle in Victoria, a Certificate of Roadworthiness is required. This helps reduce the number of poorly maintained vehicles on the road. A Licensed Vehicle Tester is the only one authorised to issue a Certificate of Roadworthiness. Carrum Downs Car & Tyre Centre is a Licensed Vehicle Tester authorised to undertake roadworthy inspections and issue Road Worthy Certificates or RWC’s. Your vehicle must pass the roadworthy inspection in order for a certificate to be issued. An inspection ensures the key components of your vehicle have not worn out or deteriorated and that your vehicle is safe for normal road use. It covers the following:
tyres and wheels headlights, lamps and reflectors seats and seat belts breaks, steering and suspension windscreen and windows overall integrity of the vehicle structure
If your vehicle fails the test, we’ll issue you with a rejection report. At this point, you’ll be given 7 days to repair the items and return the vehicle to us for a second inspection of the failed items (at no extra cost). If more than 7 days elapses, a new inspection must be carried out.
Your road worthy certificate is valid for 30 days from date of issue.
